The Assaf Gleizner Quartet introducing “Standards Re-imagined” – Join The Assaf Gleizner Quartet, featuring award-winning singer Tegan Miller, in a special program of cleverly rearranged jazz standards and showtunes ~from the top 40’s of the 1940’s to the best show tunes Broadway has to offer.
Assaf Gleizner, Born and raised in Israel, Grammy nominated Assaf Gleizner has been working as a composer, music director, orchestrator/arranger and pianist both in NYC and around the world for the past 15 years. He’s a member of BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop and Founder and Artistic Director of the organization, Arts for Immigrants. Assaf’s orchestrations and arrangements were featured in Stephen Schwartz’ 70th Birthday Concert at the Hudson Theater featuring Ben Platt, Renee Fleming, Lindsey Mendez, & Andrew Lippa as well as the Arts For Autism concert at the Gershwin Theater featuring Kelly O’Hara, Julia Murney, & Christopher Jackson. Assaf has also composed several Off-Broadway shows and national tours such as the critically acclaimed Office the Musical and Friends the Musical. Assaf’s most recent jazz album, Move On: A Sondheim Adventure featuring Cyrille Aimee was nominated for a Grammy. You can find all of Assaf’s albums on Spotify.
Tegan Miller is a Kentucky girl who recently found her way to Savannah, Georgia by way of New York City. As a multi-genre performer, Miller has been fortunate enough to sing all over the world, from Carnegie Hall to the Vatican. Most recently, Tegan, alongside her talented husband and band leader, Assaf Gleizner, premiered her own cabaret show, American Pie; An Eclectic Taste of American Music, at the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra’s streaming series, Soundwaves. Last February, Tegan was a semi-finalist and winner of the People’s Choice Award at the American Traditions Competition. As a musical theatre performer, she has toured the country and has performed in several off-broadway, regional, and workshop productions. Her favorite roles include Rona (The 25th Annual…) and Anabelle (Lucky Stiff). Tegan is also the Founder and Artistic Director of MTC Music Academy, NYC’s premier online music school.
They will be accompanied by the talented Marc Chesanow on bass & Robert Saunders on drums.
